Bunker’s Hill State School is a close-knit learning community where all staff, all students, and many parents interact with each other on a regular basis.
Students at Bunker’s Hill are drawn mainly from Westbrook and surrounding areas. The school has a largely stable population, with many students attending the school for all of their primary education.
Our school offers a variety of curricular and extra-curricular activities to students in all year levels.
Information and communication technologies are used to assist learning in a variety of ways, with interactive whiteboards and student computers provided in every classroom.
Student progress is formally reported four times a year, in parent-teacher interviews in Terms One and Three, and in written reports in Terms 2 and 4. Parents are always welcome to arrange an interview with their child’s teacher to discuss any aspect of their child’s education.
Parents are also invited to be actively involved in their child’s education through volunteering at the school in a wide range of areas. Bunker’s Hill has an active Parents and Citizens Association, which provides further opportunities for parents to be involved in the school. Parent input and perspectives are welcomed in school monitoring and planning processes.
A feature of the school is the very high standard of student behaviour. While we do enjoy a very positive school culture, we are always seeking to improve, and school practices are regularly reviewed and strengthened to build on this positive environment at the school.
Bunker's Hill is a great place for students to learn.
