2017 Athletics Day

Athletics Carnival 2017
The day started with beautiful sunshine and great anticipation but it ended with grey, rainy skies, soaking wet children and muddy shoes.  This only added to the excitement and enjoyment of the students who competed in the annual athletics carnival.
The students compete in two houses, McLean and Campbell which are named after two families who originally owned Westbrook Station.
They all participated enthusiastically in a range of field events, ballgames and sprints.  Ball games and relays are a very important tradition at our school carnival and it gives the spectators and supporters a chance to see their children compete in a team’s event.
Many records were broken and the students displayed great courage and sportsmanship during the day. Many thanks to those who came to support the students competing and we look forward to encouraging the children who have been selected to attend the Cambooya District Carnival next term.
