Bunker's Hill is a primary school catering for children from Prep to Year 7. At present there are approximately 150 children, 7 full time teachers (including a teaching principal), 4 part time teachers, 4 teacher aides, 1 administration officer and 1 cleaner.
Bunker's Hill is a semi-rural school (16km from the Toowoomba Post Office) in a setting just off the Gore Highway, 4 kilometres west of Westbrook, the area being drained by Westbrook Creek. The population of the area is about 2,000. Industries include diminishing dairy farming, grazing, grain growing, piggeries, flourishing horse studs (this being one of the largest breeding areas for thoroughbreds in Queensland) and several small businesses. Many residents find employment in Toowoomba. The district is growing following subdivision of land into residential blocks.
The school was established in 1899 and some children at the school are third and fourth generation students. The school celebrated its Centenary in 1999.
At Bunker's HillStateSchool we are providing a quality education for your child. Bunker's Hill provides for education in Maths, English, Science, Social Studies, Arts, Indonesian, Health and Physical Education and Technology.
Our school motto 'Veritas Omnia Vincit' (Truth Always Conquers) typifies our school community’s belief that effective learning communities work when parents, teachers and children can openly and honestly share information and concerns with each other.
A number of committees run within the school. Parents and community members are invited to participate within these committees.
I would like to welcome you to the school and hope you enjoy some happy years here.
